Brazil’s Mato Grosso do Sul state is holding a public consultation on a concession for 414km of highways.
The consultation will last until January 14 and the package comprises the MS-112 highway and sections of BR-158 and BR-436.
“The concessionaire that wins the auction, scheduled for mid- 2022, will invest 2.75bn reais [US$464mn] in the project, of which 1.35bn reais will be in capex,” the state government said in a release.
The main works involve the construction of around 53km of third lanes and enlarging certain bridges. The concessionaire will also have to install optical fiber along the highways.
The highways are in the northeast region of Mato Grosso do Sul along the borders with the states of Goiás, Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
They cross six municipalities: Cassilândia, Paranaíba, Aparecida do Taboado, Inocência, Selvíria and Três Lagoas.
